I'm a New York-based artist who primarily works with my finger on an iPad. Working on a simple drawing app, I respond to pop culture, politics, fashion, and gay shit with an eye for exaggeration and distortion.
My work is often based on photo references which I deconstruct and recolor to render them more immediate and dynamic.
I enlarge, subtract, add, and riff on recognizable forms, hoping to communicate a sense of wonder and excitement about the way plastic, manufactured, and stylized imagery can come alive with rawer and more expressionistic representation.
I use negative space, color blocking, and gestural lines to allow viewers to complete the idea for themselves, but through my lens. In that way, the technique creates a conversation with the viewer as much as the subject matter.
